Supported exchanges
Customers can verify a balance held on any of the exchanges below by connecting a read-only API key. Scrya checks the balance from its own servers. No funds move, and Scrya never asks for trading or withdrawal access.
Exchanges
| Exchange | What you’ll need | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Binance | API key and secret | Binance guide |
| Bybit | API key and secret | Bybit guide |
| Coinbase | API key name and private key (a key from the Coinbase Developer Platform) | Coinbase guide |
| Kraken | API key and private key | Kraken guide |
| BTC Markets | API key and secret | BTC Markets guide |
| CoinSpot | API key and secret | CoinSpot guide |
| Independent Reserve | API key and secret | Independent Reserve guide |
| Swyftx | API key only (Swyftx keys have no secret) | Swyftx guide |
| OKX | API key, secret and passphrase | OKX guide |
Scrya’s form has three boxes: API Key, API Secret and, for OKX only, Passphrase. Where an exchange uses a different name for the second value (such as Kraken’s private key), it goes in API Secret. Swyftx has no second value, so for Swyftx the form only shows API Key. Each guide shows exactly what to paste where.
For Coinbase, the two boxes are labelled API key name and Private key, matching what Coinbase calls them.
Scrya accepts OKX keys from any of OKX’s regional sites (okx.com, app.okx.com for the US and Australia, my.okx.com for the European Economic Area). You don’t need to tell Scrya which one you use.
What every exchange has in common
- Read-only keys only. Every guide tells you which permission to pick. Never enable trading, withdrawal or transfer permissions.
- Encrypted storage. Scrya encrypts the key and secret before storing them. It deletes its copy 30 days after a verification completes, straight away if the connection fails, or within a day if the verification expires.
- One balance per asset. Exchanges hold one USDC or USDT balance per account, not one per network. When you verify a stablecoin through an exchange, the network doesn’t matter.
- The balance Scrya finds is the balance it records. Scrya reads the balance of the asset being verified, including a balance of zero. Connect the account that actually holds the asset.
Who chooses the exchange?
The customer does. A business picks which assets to verify when it creates a request. The customer then chooses Centralised exchange and picks their exchange from the list.
My exchange isn’t listed
If you also hold the asset in a private wallet, you can verify that instead. See Wallet or exchange: which should I choose?. If you’d like us to add your exchange, let us know.
