For customers

Why am I being asked to verify my crypto?

A business you deal with uses Scrya to confirm that you hold certain crypto assets, without you handing them over. They’ve invited you to complete a verification request. For why they need it, or any deadline, ask the business that invited you. See Why am I being asked to verify?

Can Scrya move my funds?

No. For a private wallet, you only sign a message, which isn’t a transaction and can’t move anything. For an exchange, you give Scrya a read-only API key, and Scrya only reads balance and account information. A read-only key can’t be used to trade or withdraw. See Security and trust.

Will Scrya ever ask for my seed phrase or private key?

Never. Scrya only needs your wallet address and a signature, or a read-only API key. If anyone asks for your seed phrase, private key, password or two-factor code, it isn’t Scrya. See Contact support.

Should I verify with a wallet or an exchange?

It depends on where your crypto is. If it’s in a wallet you control, choose Private wallet. If it’s in an exchange account, choose Centralised exchange. See Wallet or exchange?

Does signing the message cost gas?

No. Signing a message isn’t a transaction and is never sent to the blockchain, so there’s no network fee. If your wallet asks you to send funds or pay a fee, stop and contact support. See How wallet verification works.

Why do you need my exchange API key?

It lets Scrya ask your exchange for your balance directly, so the result comes from the exchange itself. Create the key with read-only permission only, never trade or withdraw. Scrya encrypts your key before storing it and never shows it again in the app. See How exchange verification works.

Can I delete my API key after verifying?

Yes. Scrya checks your balance when you connect. Once your verification shows Verified, you can delete the key at your exchange. If you later pick that saved key for a new verification, the check will fail and you’ll need to create a new one. Scrya also deletes its stored copy 30 days after the verification completes. See Revoking your API key.

Should I restrict my API key to Scrya’s IP address?

No. Create the key without an IP restriction, or remove the one it has. Scrya’s checks don’t come from one fixed address, so there’s nothing you could add, and a key limited to certain addresses is rejected. See How exchange verification works.

Which exchanges and networks are supported?

Nine exchanges: Binance, Bybit, Coinbase, Kraken, BTC Markets, CoinSpot, Independent Reserve, Swyftx and OKX. The assets are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, USDC and USDT. For wallets, the networks are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tron, Solana, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum One and Base, and USDC and USDT are available on several of them. See Supported exchanges and Supported assets and networks.

Can I verify more than one wallet or asset?

Yes. On an open request, select Add address for each asset or address you want to verify. Each one is verified separately, and you can use a wallet for some and an exchange for others. See What happens next.

How long does verification take?

An exchange is checked straight away when you select Connect exchange. A wallet signature is checked when you submit it. If it matches, the address shows Monitoring while Scrya reads its balance, usually within 15 minutes. If it can’t read the balance within 24 hours, it shows Expired. See What happens next.

What happens if my verification expires or fails?

If an address shows Expired, select Start new verification to reset it, then sign a fresh message. If a verification shows Failed, the status explains why. Fix the problem and try again. See Troubleshooting.

Who can see my balances?

The business that asked you to verify, meaning the team members in its Scrya organisation, and Scrya’s own administrator and support staff, who run the service. Other businesses can’t see them. Nobody can view your exchange API key, secret or passphrase in the app. See Your data and privacy.

How do I get my data deleted?

Ask the business that invited you. Their Business Admin can export or permanently erase your data in Scrya. You can also email support@scrya.io. Separately, Scrya automatically deletes signatures and exchange credentials 30 days after a verification completes. See Your data and privacy.

Scrya accounts are invitation-only, so there’s no way to sign up yourself. Ask the business to send you a new invitation. See Accepting your invite.

I saw a message with an ERR- code. What do I do?

That’s an error reference. It means something went wrong on Scrya’s side. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it happens again, email support@scrya.io and quote the reference. See Error messages and references.

For businesses

How do we get Scrya accounts for our team?

Accounts are invitation-only. Once your organisation is set up, a Business Admin invites the rest of your team from Settings. See Managing users and Quick start.

What’s the difference between a Business Admin and a Business User?

Both can add customers and create and manage verification requests. Only Business Admins can invite and manage users, change organisation settings and plans, delete customers, and export or erase customer data. See Roles and permissions.

How do I ask a customer to verify?

Add the customer, then create a verification request for the assets you need them to prove. If they don’t have a Scrya account yet, Scrya sends their invitation when you send the first request. See Adding customers and Creating a verification request.

Can customers start a verification themselves?

Yes. A customer can select Verify an asset in their portal and choose an organisation they’re already a customer of. That organisation sees the request straight away. See Creating a verification request.

How will I know when a verification is complete?

When every holding in a request has been reviewed, Scrya emails the team member who created the request. If they were all verified, the verification certificate is attached. You can also follow progress on the request’s page. See Notifications and emails and Request statuses.

Can I get a record of the result for our files?

Yes. Once at least one holding in a request is verified, select Download Certificate on the request’s page to get a PDF. It’s the same document that’s attached to the completion email. See Verification certificates.

How do we handle a customer’s request to access or delete their data?

A Business Admin opens the customer’s page and uses Privacy & Data Rights. Export Data downloads everything stored about the customer as a JSON file. Erase Data permanently deletes the customer and their personal data, and can’t be undone. See Exporting or erasing customer data.

Can other businesses see our customers?

No. The database itself keeps each organisation’s data separate, so a business can only see its own customers, requests and results. See Security and trust.

Is two-factor authentication required?

Each user chooses whether to turn it on, and Scrya prompts new users to set it up. Business Admins choose how often users who have it turned on must enter a code, using the MFA challenge frequency setting. See Two-factor authentication.

How do I change our plan?

A Business Admin goes to Settings, finds the Plan & Billing card and selects Change plan. That opens a contact-sales form — plan changes are handled by Scrya’s team. See Plans and billing.
